| Description: |
Maple syrup and maple sugar were other important "crops" for farmers. Farmers would often work for lumber companies during the winter, and in the spring, when the sap began to run, they would return to their own properties to collect and process the maple sap. The lumber companies would purchase sugar and syrup for the lumbermen to use the following winter. |
