| Description: |
Sap was collected from maple trees in early spring. A bucket was hung on a spile that was tapped into each tree. The sap ran through the spile and into the bucket. The men would collect the sap from the buckets into the large vat and take it to the sugar shack for boiling into syrup and sugar. |
