Chutes and Flumes

Construction

Available Images: Full Size
Accession Number: AII15
Category: Lumbering; Chutes / Flumes
Description: The construction of the power dam interrupted the flow of the Seguin River. In order to float their sawlogs from inland to the mills, flumes were built to carry the logs from the higher to the lower levels. The logs would pass over the dams undamaged.
