| Description: | Two lumber mills were constructed at the mouth of the French River in the late 1890's, and by 1900 a busy town had built up around it. Pollution control laws, a diminishing lumber supply, and inaccessibility all contributed to the town's abandonment about 1912. The town no longer exists, and little evidence of it can be found. |
