Fortunes High Dump

Description: A man perched on a log at the Fortunes High log dump. In the winter, when the snow was deep, logs that had been felled were brought on sleighs to dumps such as this, located on the banks of rivers and lakes. In the spring when the ice melted, the logs were rolled into the water and sent downstream to the sawmills.
