Men would commence felling trees in September and continue until the snow was deep, about January. At this time, logs that had been gathered along the "skidway" would be hauled to the log dump, or directly to the mill. Horses with chains for pulling the sawlogs are on at the left; men with a cross-cut saw are at centre. |
