Lumber Woods - Skiddiing

Available Images: Full Size
Accession Number: JBM94
Category: Lumbering; Tools / Equipment
Description: In the winter, lumbermen would gather felled logs along a cleared path called a "skidway." Logs were piled using a "decking line," seen here. Logs were rolled up two poles, which can be seen behind the tree in the foreground at centre. From the "skidway," sawlogs were hauled to log dumps.
