| Description: |
The plant originally produced dynamite and gelatin. The explosives were used for blasting mines being opened to the north. The plant was intended to produce dynamite and gelatin for use in the creation of the proposed canal linking Ottawa to Georgian Bay. Although the canal was never built, the plant was productive until it closed in 1984. |
