| Description: | This camp was erected to house men working on the Canada Atlantic Railway. The rail line originated in Ottawa, and its terminus was in Depot Harbour. Depot Harbour was selected as the terminus because J.R. Booth, the owner of the railway, thought people in Parry Sound were asking for too much money for their land. He decided that rather than paying what he considered exorbitant prices, he would build his own town. |
