| Description: | The swing bridge pivots at the centre to allow taller ships to pass through the channel. It was originally built in 1898, by J.R. Booth, to allow trains to pass onto Parry Island, where Depot Harbour was located. A new swing bridge was built in 1912, and is still in operation today. The tracks, however, were lifted in 1989 and now only cars pass over it. |
