The "Mohegan" with Barges

Description: After the advent of steam ships, sail-powered barges were towed behind the steamers, loaded with wood, thus saving time and trips. These bagres were called "lumber-hookers." The ships here are leaving Black Rock, to load lumber at Byng Inlet. The ship was owned by Graves, Bigwood and Company.
