COMMUNITY ACCESS PROGRAMParry Sound Public Library is a Community Access (CAP) Program site. Industry Canada's CAP sites give thousands of Canadians affordable access to the Internet in places like schools, community centres and libraries. They provide access to those people who might not have computers or Internet access in their homes or workplaces. Parry Sound Public Library has: 8 computer terminals with high speed internet access as well as software programs such as word processing, powerpoint and spreadsheets. Wireless access is also available.
CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
Pre-school Story Hour
Parry Sound Public Library invites children aged 3 and up to register for our Preschool Story Hour. Sessions run every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. A new theme each week! Call to register or for more information. A nominal fee applies. Current listings are available in News.
Pyjama Tales
Parry Sound Public Library and the West Parry Sound Early Literacy Specialist invite children aged 0 to 6 years to join us for an evening bedtime story! TRAVELOGUES
Free monthly travel presentations are presented by numerous volunteers who share their trips on the third Thursday of the month at 2 p.m. from September to June. Current listings are available in News.

The library provides fast and easy access to a range of government services through the ServiceOntario website.
By logging on you can:Download the Resources for Business Guide 2010. This guide has been customized with Parry Sound Public Library resources, current government links/publications, and reference material for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Note: As of March 26, 2010, driver and vehicle services has moved from 70 Church Street to the ServiceOntario centre at 7 Bay Street.
TACKLE SHARE
The library, in partnership with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) has six fishing rods and tackle boxes available for loan to library patrons.
PEDOMETER LENDING PROGRAM
The Pedometer Lending Program is now available at the Parry Sound Public Library.
Use your card to borrow a pedometer for three weeks with the option to renew.
The pedometer is a step counter and measures the number of steps you take while wearing it
and encourages an increase in your physical activity.
The Pedometer Lending Program is supported by local libraries, the Take Heart Partnership and the
North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.
HOME LIBRARY SERVICE
Home library service is available for Parry Sound residents who are homebound due to age, illness or disability. You can register for the service and a volunteer will deliver books selected to suit your reading interests.
INTERLIBRARY LOAN
Interlibrary Loan can be used to obtain books, microfilm, and other library material not owned by Parry Sound Public Library from libraries in Ontario and beyond. Through the provincial interloan system, libraries extend their resources through cooperation and sharing.
All library materials may be requested on interlibrary loan, subject to the availability and interlibrary loan policies of the lending libraries. Borrowers need a valid PSPL library card to make an interlibrary loan request. For more details ask at the library.
Training is available to patrons interested in submitting their own interlibrary loan requests through the VDX system. For more details ask at the library.
